Description: Children's Home Society (CHS) provides short-term residential care (Habilitation) for children up to age 21 with significant multiple developmental disabilities and medical needs. Often, this short-term need for care is the result of an emergency or a crisis situation within the child's family. CHS' focus is to serve children who are non-ambulatory (not walking or utilizing wheelchairs) or who have a limited ability to walk. More specifically, the children served by CHS may have some medical or health concerns such as the need for daily medications, feeding by G-tubes, tracheotomy care, suctioning, etc. CHS is staffed with competent and professional medical personnel skilled at addressing the needs of children with significant multiple medical and developmental disabilities.
