Our Mission
To ensure individuals with developmental disabilities in the City of St. Louis have quality services, choices, and full inclusion.

The St. Louis Office for Developmental Disability Resources (DD Resources) was created by the Missouri legislature in 1969. The legislation, known as the County Sheltered Workshop and Developmental Disability Services Law, allows voters to approve a real estate tax to provide services to persons with developmental disabilities. DD Resources was incorporated in 1980.

St. Louis city residents with developmental disabilities are able to live fuller lives through the support of St. Louis city taxpayers. DD Resources distributes funds for community based services to persons who have developmental disabilities that desire to remain in their home and community. Service providers offer a variety of services ranging from life skills development, job training, continuing education, habilitation, and socialization.

Developmental Disabilities require early detection and assistance. DD Resources serves persons of all ages with the following developmental disabilities:

w mental retardation w cerebral palsy

w epilepsy w autism

(these disabilities must be diagnosed before one’s 18th birthday)

or

one must meet the functional definition of a developmental disability
as determined by the St. Louis Regional Office.
