Each year, the St. Louis Office for DD Resources awards over three million dollars to area agencies to provide on-going services to St. Louis city residents with developmental disabilities. Agencies wishing to provide services participate in the annual funding cycle by submitting an application that provides background information on the service, service recipients, service outcomes, and agency operating information

Services can include sheltered workshops, supported living programs, and other programs for supported employment and residential needs.

Applications are reviewed by the St. Louis Office for DD Resources staff and receive final approval by the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Office for DD Resources. Agencies are given the opportunity to meet with the Board of Directors to support their application. Agencies must also follow the guidelines set forth in the St. Louis Office for DD Resources Funding Manual.

The funding cycle begins each year in December with public notification of the deadline for submitting funding applications.

The Service Ticket Program is a unique funding stream administered through the St. Louis Office for DD Resources. This program supports self-determination by funding services chosen by eligible individuals rather than funding agencies that provide services to eligible individuals.

Currently, the types of services funded through the Individual Service Ticket Program are: Employment Services, Residential Services, and Related Services.

With the Service Ticket Program, individuals are allowed to choose their own service provider and may be able to access services that are not currently available in the community. An individual can choose to have their funding re-directed toward another service if they are not satisfied with their current service provider.

Providers chosen by individuals or families must have qualifications which are approved by the St. Louis Office for DD Resources. Providers must also follow the guidelines set forth in the DD Resources Funding Manual.
