Description: OASIS Friends offers strategies for the newly retired individual to improve or sustain a positive sense of well-being. This program provides older persons with developmental disabilities opportunities to meet new people, learn new skills & maintain healthier lifestyles. The OASIS Friends program matches OASIS volunteers with older residents of the city of St. Louis who have developmental disabilities so that they may enrich their lives through classes that are open to all individuals over 50 years of age. Classes are held in Famous Barr stores and several community sites, including the Forest Park Visitor Center.
