Description: The TouchPoint Autism Services EXCELL Program provides a transitional work program for individuals with developmental disabilities living in the St. Louis city area that require close supervision due to their excessive, severe and challenging behaviors. The EXCELL program also provides transitional services and EXCELL Crisis consultation services for individuals preparing for less intrusive programs such as a less structured day program, a sheltered workshop or competitive employment. Crisis consultation services are also available for individuals seeking support in maintaining their current services but who are struggling with specific issues.
The TouchPoint Autism Services Supported Employment Program provides specialized services that address the unique needs of individuals whose disability falls within the autism spectrum. These services enable people to meet their personal outcomes. Securing employment or finding a better job allows the individual with autism to develop a sense of independence and become a contributing member of his/her community. Self-esteem is strengthened by this independence. In addition, the individual has an ability to establish new relationships and friendships as well as maintain existing relationships at places of employment and in the community.
The ideal benefit for the individuals being served by the TouchPoint Autism Services Individual Support ~ In-Home/Facility Based Program (Habilitation) varies from person to person. Areas of benefit include, but are not limited to, the following: the development of socialization skills, self-help skills, communication abilities, and community living skills. The two outcomes to be met by the Individual Support Program include:People with autism develop skills and positive relationships with others. People with autism live with their families.
The TouchPoint Autism Services Training Services Program supports individuals with autism by teaching the skills necessary to successfully remain within their natural family residence and be included in their community. The training provided maximizes the potential of the person with autism to live in his/her natural home and to flourish as a contributing valued member of the family while developing independence, social roles, relationships and self-reliance.
